Medway

Medway Council’s brand-new sponsorship scheme will create a huge opportunity for local businesses. Due to be launched imminently, the initiative consists of 46 roundabouts which will be available to sponsor, allowing businesses the chance to make their mark on the Medway landscape.

Commuter Towns

This area of Kent includes one of the most affordable and popular towns for London commuters to live in the South East, Chatham, which is only a 39-minute train journey to St. Pancras. In fact, all the Medway towns – such as Rochester and Strood – offer great potential for businesses to tap into the sizeable commuter audiences that Medway can provide, thanks to its value for money housing and high-speed rail connections into London via the HS1. Strategic locations are available near to these key commuter stations, which will allow sponsors to reach these passengers with their advertising on a twice daily basis as they travel in and out of London.

Tourist & Visitor Destinations

The scheme covers Medway in its entirety, and roundabouts are found on all the main access roads to London. The A2 and M2 connect the thousands of daily visitors from both Kent and further afield to the major retail destination of Bluewater Shopping Centre, to historic Rochester Castle and the Kent Downs, and day-trippers to the South East coast. One of the principal advantages to this type of advertising is the fact that it reaches every audience demographic, and it can’t be switched off or avoided.  Thousands of drivers, public transport users, pedestrians and cyclists will see the signs every day, and an example of a site which would achieve over 1.2 million monthly views of its sponsor is a roundabout on the busy A229 Maidstone Road on the main route to Rochester. Such locations are expected to be reserved quickly, so any interested parties are advised to register their interest now to ensure that they have the first refusal in selecting their chosen site(s).

Locally Beneficial

The scheme is expected to be hugely advantageous to local businesses who might otherwise find it difficult to target such diverse audiences. Sponsors can expect to significantly raise awareness of their business, as the repeated exposure ensures that people become familiar with their brand identity and business location. Consumers are increasingly keen to support local enterprises, and are more likely to choose a recognisable and trusted name when they’re looking for particular services or products.

Roundabout sponsorship also helps the Medway economy to prosper, as the funds are directly reinvested back into regeneration and local community projects.

How to Register Interest

Medway Council have awarded management of the scheme to CP Media, who manage sponsorship initiatives on behalf of councils throughout the UK.

Businesses are encouraged to register an early interest as there are only a limited number of sites available, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Please get in touch with CP Media on (01422) 322255 or email info@cpmedia.co.uk for further details and a list of available locations.
